A Journey from Ancient Luxor to Beautiful Aswan
Your private driver and Egyptologist guide will meet you at your hotel or Nile cruise in Luxor early in the morning. Begin the approximately four-hour drive south to Aswan in a modern air-conditioned vehicle.Discover one of Egypt’s most important modern engineering projects. Enjoy panoramic views of Lake Nasser and learn how the High Dam transformed Egypt’s agriculture and electricity production.
Visit the ancient granite quarries of Aswan and see the enormous Unfinished Obelisk. Your guide will explain how the ancient Egyptians extracted, shaped and transported massive stone monuments.
Take a motorboat across the Nile to Agilkia Island and explore the beautiful Philae Temple. Dedicated primarily to the goddess Isis, the temple is famous for its impressive pylons, columns and detailed reliefs.
Enjoy lunch at a selected local restaurant in Aswan. Vegetarian meals can be arranged when requested in advance.
Depending on the available time, enjoy a short walk along the Nile or browse traditional spices, souvenirs and Nubian products at a local market.
