Luxor Day Trip from Hurghada
Your tour starts early in the morning with pickup from your hotel in Hurghada, then travel by private air-conditioned vehicle to Luxor. Upon arrival, visit the West Bank of Luxor, starting with the Valley of the Kings, the royal burial place of ancient Egyptian pharaohs. Continue to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, then stop at the Colossi of Memnon for photos. After lunch at a local restaurant, cross to the East Bank to visit Karnak Temple, one of the largest temple complexes in Egypt. At the end of the tour, drive back to Hurghada and transfer to your hotel.

How far is Luxor from Hurghada?
Luxor is around 280–300 km from Hurghada, roughly a 4-hour drive each way through the Eastern Desert in an air-conditioned vehicle. The road is modern and the journey includes comfort stops along the way.
How long does the day trip last?
It's a long full-day trip of about 16–18 hours. Pickup is very early (usually 4:00–5:00 AM) and you return to your hotel late in the evening, which allows enough time to visit the main sites on both banks of the Nile.
Which sites will I visit in Luxor?
The classic itinerary covers the Valley of the Kings (three royal tombs), the Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, the Colossi of Memnon on the West Bank, and Karnak Temple on the East Bank. Some packages also include Luxor Temple.
What is included in the price?

Is the tomb of Tutankhamun included?
No. Tutankhamun's tomb requires a separate ticket that you can purchase on site. The standard Valley of the Kings ticket covers three other royal tombs, which your guide will help you choose.
Is the trip suitable for children and older travelers?
Yes, but keep in mind it's a long day with early start and a lot of walking in the heat. Families with young children and travelers with limited mobility often prefer a private tour, which allows a slower pace and a flexible itinerary.
What should I bring and wear?
Wear light, comfortable clothes and closed walking shoes, and bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and plenty of water. Cash is useful for drinks, souvenirs, tips, and optional tickets. Modest clothing is appreciated when visiting temples.
Can I take photos at the sites?
Photography is allowed at most outdoor sites and temples. Inside the tombs of the Valley of the Kings, a photo permit is required and is purchased separately at the entrance. Flash photography is not permitted inside tombs.
Can I add a hot air balloon ride over Luxor?
Yes, a sunrise balloon flight over the West Bank can be added as an optional extra, but it usually requires an overnight stay in Luxor since flights take off at dawn. Ask us when booking and we'll arrange the best option.
Is it a private or group tour?
